I Have A Dream

On 28 August 1963, Martin Luther King delivered his now very famous speech, ‘I have a dream’, on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, Washington D.C. USA.

I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.”

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of ‘interposition’ and ‘nullification’, one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers. I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

This is our hope. This is the faith that I go back to the South with. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.

And when this happens, when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God’s children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual: Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!

Martin Luther King's dream was a nightmare for others. He was assassinated after 5 years after that inspiring and historical speech.

PEARL DROPS OF WISDOM ... adapted

Be silent when others cowardly speak;
Speak when others are cowardly silent.

Refrain when others foolishly give,
Give when others foolishly refrain.

Wise men see divinity in every face when,
Fools see demons in every one.

Wise men respond to attack with love in their hearts when,
Fools react with fear and anger.

Be not like fools who judges others,
But be wise in judging thyself foremost.

Seek not short-lived pleasures which cause thee to die as a mortal,
But seek eternal values that thou may transform into an immortal.

Be wise, live and act with soul purpose,
Unlike fools who live and act carnally.

Thoughts bring pain, thoughts bring pleasure,
Transcend such ambiguity by transcending thoughts.

Fools flee problems only to face them again,
Be wise, face problems that thou may rise higher.

Deceit, violence, selfishness--these maintain mortality,
Honesty, non-violence, selfishness--these evokes immortality.

Fools believe what they are not, to be what they are.
Wise men understand what they are, to be what they are.

Fools are slaves to Nature;
Wise men are her handmaidens.

Fools are attracted to the pseudo-gods in the forms of darkness,
Wise men are attracted to the One God in the form of Light.

There is release and benefit in knowing Truth;
There is bondage and harm in being deceived by the false.

Fools are attracted to appearances and are thus deceived,
Wise men know their essence and are thus liberated.

The values of men are foolishness to God,
The values of God are foolishness to men.

Death is a stranger to and feared by fools,
To wise men, "death" is a friend and welcomed.

Fools accuse all but themselves for their personal problems;
Wise men blame themselves alone for the problems of the world.

Fools pursue instant development and attainment--their acquisitions are subsequently instantly lost;
Wise men work diligently upon their own development and attainment--their acquisitions are permanently gotten.

Fools seek the quick way and thus unknowingly tread the long path;
Wise men seek the right way and knowingly tread the quick path.

Fools look down and laugh,
Wise men look up and sigh.

Fools are arrogantly complacent with their abundance,
Wise men give thanks for their mere pittance.

A fool is a wise man at a certain stage of spiritual progress,
Just as a wise man is a fool at a certain stage of spiritual progression.

Fools believe complexity to be of value,
Wise men know simplicity to be of true value.

Wise men believing themselves wise are foolish,
Fools knowing themselves foolish are wise.

The purpose of the Soul a fool does ignore,
The purpose of the false ego the wise dismiss.

False beliefs create the false ego,
True knowledge manifests the True Soul.

Fools are asleep and dead to Reality,
Wise men are awake and alive to it.

Fools believe the mind-body continuum to be the Self and thus they suffer,
Wise men know the Self to be the Self and are thus liberated.

Fools delay spiritual-culture for they forget the nearness of death;
Wise men cultivate themselves every minute for they remember it.

Fools are attached to worldly phenomena and thus experience pleasure and pain,
Wise men detach themselves from worldly occurrences and thus transcend those dual states.

Fools find ways to work with human laws in conducting their misdeeds,
Wise men simply obey Cosmic laws in conducting their lives.

Those who are beautiful see only beauty in God's creation;
Those who are ugly see only ugliness in everything.

Fools conform to the letter of the law and are thus bound by it,
Wise men conform to the spirit of the law and are thereby liberated.

Fools understand the false to be true, and the true to be false,
Wise men know the false to be false and the true to be true.

Fools believe wisdom, experience, and spiritual development to be related to the physical years of a person;
Wise men know that wisdom, experience, and spiritual development to be related to the soul.

Fools only honor those that benefit them;
Wise men honor all whom they benefit.

A fool is in confusion by his own state of mind,
A wise men is in a state of joy for that is his true nature.

Fools believe themselves powerful but are dependent upon their external supports;
Wise men are powerful for they are dependent upon none but their own subtle energy.

Fools await their luck, await their fate;
Wise men create their luck, create their fate.

Without humility one is never wise,
With humility one is never foolish.

All that is of value one takes along to the other side,
All that is worthless one leaves behind.

Fools attack that which they do not know,
Wise men surrender to that which they do know.

Those that boast of seeing God's light and are untransformed are fools,
Wise men, however, are silent in words but loud in virtues.

He who would not give will not be given,
He who gives shall be looked after.

Fools emphasize the pronoun "I" too much,
Wise men no longer have such an egotistic sense.

Fools judge what they see at the surface, what they believe to be and are thus misled.
Wise men look into the hearts, the hidden thoughts, the character and light of men, and thus they judge wisely.

The costliest thing in the world fools ignore,
Wise men treasure and nurture it constantly and lovingly.

Fools believe that they have found what they are searching for and are thus complacent;
Wise men are never complacent no matter where they stand.

Experiences serves no purpose unless its value is extracted;
Its extraction is likewise valueless unless it causes a spiritual transformation.

Discipline may result in liberation or it may result in bondage,
Fools serve discipline whereas wise men are served by it.

He who knows least believe himself to know most;
And he who knows most believe himself to know least.

The higher we get the more subtle the temptations;
Fools will always be deceived, glamored and deluded--wise men will always be on guard.

Spiritual transformation requires more than a single step;
The Spiritual Path is an eternal trek with a receding goal.

One's spiritual understanding is in a constant state of evolution;
There is no moment when a person is completely right in his comprehension.

Humans who believe human beings to be the pinnacle of creation remain as such.
Saints believing sainthood to be the highest remain as such; gods who believe godhood to be the highest will likewise remain at that level.

Without opening the heart jewel there is no true unfoldment;
Without love and compassion unfoldment is not true.

The purpose of life is more than knowing God;
For by knowing God one becomes aware of more purposes in life.

He lies when he says he knows God and yet shows vices;
One's virtues declares one's knowledge of God.

Fools wait to be chosen,
Wise men choose to be chosen.

Fools think as mortals and thus suffer;
Wise men think as immortals and are thus liberated.

The disciplines of the past may not be applicable for the present;
The disciplines of the present may not be applicable for the future.

Fools unthinkingly follow disciplines without questioning their purpose;
Wise men seek to learn their purposes and to know their relevancy and necessity.

In everything, fools seek quantity rather than quality;
Wise men, however, seek quality rather than quantity.

Fools pride themselves in being the highest-evolved creature in the universe;
Wise men know themselves to be the brothers to the lowest and highest beings.

Fools pride themselves with their years of discipline and experiences of a single incarnation; they often judge others by this human standard.
Wise men know their practices and experiences of many incarnations but are silent; they judge others by this Soul standard.

Those new to spiritual practices in this lifetime may be old veterans of many incarnations.
Those experienced in spiritual practices in this lifetime may be toddlers from a soul-standpoint.

The untouchables ... title by RPK

Dear RPK Sir,

I would like to bring to your attention on the above subject.

A few days ago, I believe it was on Monday, my daughter's best friend, a muslim, I believe she is a Pakistani mix, told my daughter that in the Agama class that she was in, compulsory for Muslims while the non-muslims have their Moral education, the Agama teacher, a woman, said this to the class:

"Your best friends must never be non-muslims."

What on earth is going on in these Agama classes? It is here that the indoctrination is taking place. Spreading hatred among the races. Some are impressionable kids. Some would be confused. Is this what the Quran says, they may ask. I can only hope and pray that some Malay muslim parent takes this matter up, if it reaches their ears. Even if it does, I doubt if they will ever do anything about it.

Like I always say, how many RPKs are there?

My daughter is in Form Two in a school in Subang Jaya. I have to admit, probably the best school around this area.

My daughter has a group of VERY close friends. One, is this Pakistani mix girl, another a Malay muslim boy, one Indian, one Chinese girl, one Indian boy, two Chinese boys. Her best friends are this Pakistani mix girl and a Chinese girl. One Hindu, one Muslim and one Buddist.

The guys who are just as close are one Malay muslim, who is now at the receiving end of a couple of teachers, probably for mixing with non muslims, two other Chinese boys, one other Indian girl and an Indian boy.

All of them are very close and once in a while they go to the Mall, Sunway Pyramid, Subang Parade and just walk around ... with a chaperone, one of the parents of one of them. Sometimes they watch a movie.

I have always lectured her to mix with DECENT students no matter what race or religion they belong to and to keep away from hooligans who are sad to say, a group of Indians.

I am waiting for the AGM to bring this matter into the open but I know it will be futile. Also, the school will hold this grudge against my daughter and wait for her to make one small mistake. It's not that I am worried about that, I am thinking about my daughter and she wouldn't want that, for me to bring this matter up as all her BEST friends might be blacklisted.

I have been and EXCO member in the Primary school and know how things are run. Against all odds, the parents voted me in as I spoke out on many issues. One teacher told me that the HM a woman, ordered all the teachers not to vote for me!

They know me well. I am not a 'yes' man and they never did like me. So who cares. But just because I was in the PIBG (PTA) EXCO I was 'respected'. After a few months I quit as I did not like what they were doing. The HM and staff came first, then the students. And this was precisely what I was fighting for, that the students' welfare and above all, their safety should be top priority.

Back to the issue at hand.

If you are willing, I will gladly meet you anywhere, hopefully somewhere in Subang as I have a problem with traffic jams and noise. We shall talk about this in detail. I will give you names. I am inviting you because what I stated is a FACT.

This country is going to the dogs with racist and selfish UMNOputras running the show. I spit at their faces. Especially that common thug semi value.

If anyone calls me a racist, I smile as I am also taking care of a poor Malay-muslim family, my adpoted family in a Felda area somewhere in Negri Sembilan. It's a long story how I met them. I have spent thousands helping them ... still paying off my credit card bills. I put a roof over their heads (literally speaking), put food on their table and spent more than what I could afford so they do not go hungry. Ten children.

I have - when I say I, I mean my wife, my daughter and I - have given clothes, bought clothes and uniforms for them, including tudungs, bras, under garments (from Subang Parade) for the girls and shirts and pants for the boys, including Abah and Ibu. I still send money to them. I used to go there very often but of late I am not able to as one trip will cost me easily anywhere between 500-800 Ringgit.

When I go there I am treated like the eldest son and they do not eat beef as a sign of respect for me and my family. They cook the best food when I go there although I have told them not to. When we leave for home, I hand them money and it's at least a 100-150, sometimes more.

When I am there, I take them to a place, like a supermarket and when they buy the basic neccessities, I add a lot of extra stuff. For example, if they buy one bar of soap, I add a few more items. Each time this happens, which is quite often, I spend more than a thousand Ringgit.

I installed a telephone for them. I bought handphones for them in case we needed to contact each other. I drove to Kuala Pilah whenever anyone in the family was admitted. There were several ocassions. They stay nearer to Bahau and Gemas.They are good people.

The father who I call Abah, goes fishing and if he is lucky, catches one fish which is a kilo and sells it to a chinaman for 26 Ringgit. I go with him to sell the fish after accompanying him catching fish ... right smack in a jungle to a river he is familar with. It's always an overnnight trip. Sometimes a three or four- day trip, just to get 150-200 Ringgit, only sometimes. I know how difficult it is for him.

Whenever we 'balik kampung' , Ibu cooks us all a meal. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sometimes I buy breakfast and provisions for lunch and dinner. When Ibu is not well, the girls take turns to cook.

My sister-in-law bought a boat for him, like a sampan, a reasonably big one and I bought a second-hand engine, a big one, it cost me 1,000 Ringgit just so Abah could go further and hopefully catch more fish. When we do catch some fish, we sell some at the market, some we we have a canopy and put up a stall and seel the fish to the people in Rompin, Pasir Besar and in the kampung as well. I would be there with Abah and Ibu when we sell the fish to the kampung folks.

Let me not go into details as I could write a book about all this.

The point I am making is, why should I, a Hindu Indian help this Malay Muslim family? I believe you know why. I could have helped a poor Indian family instead. I suppose I was meant to help them. They are in the process of renovating the house, doing it themselves. I bought all the necessary material to do that which again came to more than a thousand to 2,000 Ringgit.

My wife's and my biological parents have left us for a better place. My wife, my daughter and I were taking care of my late father and mother. No one else wanted to but grabbed their money and gold. That is another saga which I am in the process of writing in one of my blogs.

Abah and Ibu are good Malay Muslims. They have accepted us as their children and will do anything to protect us.

I am the only 'keling' who can drive into that kampung and no one will dare bother me. I walk around the kampung with Abah and he has introduced me as his 'anak'. Today, most of them know me and when they see me, they always acknowledge me. I can bravely tell these people off and they would never start a fight with me. It happened a couple of times.

I have chided and even spanked some of my adiks when they are naughty, in front of Abah. He never interferes.

I digress.

My purpose here is to inform you of what one school is doing. I can only imagine what the other schools are up to.RPK. I will post a little of this racial thing in your site but first, I need to cool off as I am as you said, fucking annoyed with some of these asshole UMNOputras who think they are Above the Law and talk cock when I post something.

This is why when I post something, I post it through experience. Not all Malays are bad, same with Indians and Chinese.

To you I say, my good friends are still Malays, Chinese and Indians.

Take care RPK and keep posting your articles. I love it when some UMNOputras are agitated with your postings.

I will be honest, I wish I could blast out at them but look at what happened to three bloggers who visit your site. I am just a 'keling' to these UMNOputras, so I have to be careful. Like I said, my pension is my only source of income. They are just waiting to take that away from me should I anger them.

Best Wishes.

A Neglected Malay-Muslim Family

With all focus on the coming General Elections, by-elections, racial integration, building skyscrapers, impressing foreigners and the people with promises of this and that - what truly needs to be addressed ( not when the General Elections is around the corner ), is the people who are neglected - especially the the gullible Indians and the rural Malays.

I believe there is a saying. Charity begins at home. Millions, perhaps even in the billions, are spent by sponsors on unnecessary events. These estate and kampung people remind me of the 50s. Drive around in a mobile theater and show a movie and they are happy.

I go often to a kampung and I know what is happening there. Some may find it hard to believe but you know what ... there are poor Malays living in deplorable conditions while some of their own kind are very content living in mansions and driving around in fancy cars.

And what do I do?... you may ask. I am in no way wealthy but I have helped one family of poor Muslim Malays in more ways than one. At least that's one family that's taken care of. I put a roof over their heads ( literally speaking ) as the zinc roof was blown off during a thunderstorm. I rushed there and saw the rain pouring in the house. The local representative did nothing to help them. I put food on their table. Now they have a roof on top of their heads and food to eat.

The house reminds me of documentaries I have seen ... houses with no furniture, no proper place to cook food, a small place to have a bath and an outhouse. Not very different from the 'houses' of the poor in Africa. I felt compelled to get a refrigerator and that was the very first time they had cold drinks. I also bought a washing machine and now it's less painful to wash clothes.They were so proud of the fact that they have 'sophisticated' machinery that they invited some friends over just to give them ice-cold drinks ... complete with ice cubes!

I added a vacuum cleaner for them. I tried to make things easier for Ibu.

When I go there with my family, I am treated as the eldest in the family and everyone greets me in accordance with the Malay custom ( salaam ). Yes, I am not a Malay but a Hindu Indian who cares. I am still paying off my credit card bills. No fish to catch meant no money which in turn meant no food. Pension is insufficient to feed a family of ten children.

I have personally seen how difficult ( to use a mild term ) it is to catch fish. Sometimes, one fish ( 1 kilo ) is caught and immediately sold to a shop for RM25.00. On a good day ( twice a month, once in a few months, it varies ) they manage to get a bonus, RM150.00. Rain, no fish. And I'm not talking about deep-sea fishing, can't afford that luxury. A small sampan that can be used to catch fish in a river, with the help of a tube, to keep afloat and tie the nets. That's when I helped to buy more nets and other paraphernalia to catch more fish. The fish that is caught is sold ( fresh ) by them at the kampung and the left-overs for personal consumption.

I was hard on these generous Malays and told them that if they cook 'lavish' ( by no standards as lavish as what the average people eat ) food when I go there, I will not make a trip there again. How could I eat all that good food when I know they borrowed money to cook good food knowing I am coming? But all my 'threats' were in vain. They will always cook the best food when I go back to the kampung. I have no choice but to inform them that I am going there because if I don't, then the man of the house will go fishing and he usually stays for a few days just to get some extra fish.

Incidentally, I am still sending money to that family. I am also sending money to yet another Malay lady who is probably even poorer than that family I mentioned.

So much for the NEP.

Let's not even go into details of the plight of the Estate Indians. Who the heck cares if they rot in their estates. I personally know of some who were in the same estate about 55 years ago and are still there ... yet there are wealthy Indians who turn the other way. Indians who could ( if they really wanted to ) help these poor estate wallas.

My late mother helped in her own way. We drove to an estate where we used to stay a long time ago ... like I said ... the same estate where we discovered that some people who were there 55 years ago were still there! She gave whatever money she could afford to the people there. How many Indians dare say they have done that? Yet there many wealthy Indians engrossed and engulfed in their wealth. Put your money where your mouth is. Where is your conscience? Do you have one? You disgust me.

Strange how wealth finds its way into the hands of the wrong people. But that's how it is, they are so caught up in their wealth that they seemed to have forgotten the plight of the poor.

Malaysians generally have the tendency to lash out at the West, the U.S. in particular. But the care and generosity of the Americans cannot be matched by the any loud speakers here who are ignorant of the difference between the policies of the government and the ordinary citizens on the streets.

Do not misconstrue what I am trying to put into words. I am in no way pro-American but I think they could teach us all a good lesson ... on giving. The foreign policies may be high-handed and thus portray a 'high & mighty' nation ... but believe me, most of the people are not. Yes there are some who are nothing but a reflection of the KKK. Incorrigible racists. Then again racists can be found in every country on Earth. But I do not wish to dabble in politics.

I am sure a whole lot of us watch 'American Idol' ... See for yourselves what I mean ... Idol Gives back. Over 70 million voters just for this episode alone ( Idol Gives back ) ... double the figure ... just to donate to the have-nots. They do not discriminate. They are donating not just for the victims of Katrina but for the poverty-ridden people of Africa, not thinking twice about the color of their skin or what race or religion they are.

Why didn't I mention the amount collected? Because that is not the point. The point is ... a whole lot of people donated.The woman host even lashed out and embarrassed some wealthy people. They never asked anyone outside the U.S to donate. It was written for all to see. Plus we had our people to remind us about that.I can tell you what I thought of the show ... I was ashamed.

That programme made me so ashamed that I am living in a country infested with indifferent people who are too busy piling and stashing $$$ selfishly ... and condemning generous people.

Yes, we too certainly have our share of generous people, caring and compassionate. But let us not ignorantly condemn anyone or any country. Let us show the world that we do have a caring society and help those in need. But more important than showing the world, let us show these needy people that we care.

Millions are spent on sending sms ( quick text messages aka short message service ) to pick your favorite idol on our local Reality Show, the 5th one, Academy Fantasia. The singers ( if you can call them that ) are all a pampered bunch. But that's a different story. The winner gets a house worth more than a quarter of a million dollars ... 270 big ones to be more precise, a car worth more than 80,000 and other endorsements worth ??? I do hope that a small portion of the collection of money ( via sms etc ) which I believe is in the hundreds of thousands will be spent wisely.

You better believe it ... I am absolutely annoyed and thoroughly disappointed that there still exists poor Malays and Indians who find it difficult to feed their children while so much money is spent on 'entertainment'. I can't remember the last time a winner, come to think of it, anyone, saying he/she will donate some money to the needy or the elderly. If someone did, good for you.

Please donate generously to lift the spirits of the poor and the elderly some of whom are abandoned by their family ( reminds me of a good Malay movie ... Pondok Buruk ) and are in homes for the elderly. You could even visit them and spend some time with them, talk to them, cheer them up ... you will make them happy and you will feel good. I have done my part to help these people ... the ball is in your court.

I honestly do not know the status of the Chinese. But I do know that there are poor Chinese too. That's for sure. Perhaps not as many as the Indians but they too have their share of have-nots. Who are these needy people going to turn to? They have been neglected for far too long.

This post is written from personal experience. To those who generously helped in any way, helping the poor and needy, the elderly ... you have done a wonderful thing. We have our share of millionaires and billionaires too. So why are there still people who are living in appalling conditions? This is not a huge country with a billion people. It's a Peninsular with a population of 26 million. The poor, homeless and the needy are not in the millions ... It's shameful, to say the least.

==========================================

There will be a sequel to this article ... pertaining the Malay Muslim (?) family.

For now, let me say that this family I helped so much is certainly not a Muslim family - just a plain Malay family.

... to be cont'd

...the sequel...

and so this poor Malay Muslim family that I literally put a roof on their heads and food on their table have betrayed me - I am now fighting a battle - I have to appear in a court in Segamat and provide my defence - for 'not paying the car loan.' A pick-up truck that I helped them to get - with a promise that they will pay every month. Three in the family are working now.

This f***ing uneducated, ungrateful moronic, scum-bag, pathetic Malays deliberately did not pay the monthly loan as promised.

So yet another expensive lesson learned.

They earn RM1,500 a month and after all the help - they fix me up. I fed them all - and they bit the hand that fed them.

I WOULD RATHER TRUST A JEW THAN A 'POOR' MALAY FAMILY.'

Of Doctors and Dilemmas - as I see it

Walk through any corridor of higher learning and you will see the damage done to the inhabitants of these places. Students today, at a higher education site are quite content with the educational system. It's somewhat sad that places of higher learning do not have a slot to teach a subject that would widen their academic horizon.

I always thought that we are churning out thousands of ill-informed graduates every year, most of whom do not know what is happening beyond the periphery of their books or the campus. Any attempt to educate them will only prove to be futile. Attempts at exposing them to look at local and global politics in a panoramic view, using periphrases, innuendos, allusions and even candidly were in vain.

The higher education students of today do not or should I say, are not capable of comprehending what was trying to be conveyed. One can try, with a flicker of hope, to ignite their intellect, to grasp even a grain of awareness of what is going on around them. This they will not perceive. Those who have tried should adopt a couldn't-care-less attitude. After all, why should one take it upon himself to educate them on a comprehensive interpretation of humanity and politics?

There are no additional monetary returns for educating them on such topics. How could one ignite a disinterested candle that is being blown by periodic gusts of wind? There was no attempt or even a thought of trying to indoctrinate them or incite racial sentiments. Neither was there an effort at trying to instigate a revolution. On the contrary, it was only an innocent endeavor, trying to make them aware of what's going on outside the borders of their cozy campus grounds.

Are these are our future leaders? Undergraduates who are either a bunch of deviant radicals or another group who are complacent 'scholars', content with what is being fed to them. They are totally oblivious as to what is happening around them.

Colleges and Universities are supposed to, in my opinion, educate them on other subjects as well and not confine them to becoming graduates who are ill-informed and ignorant to matters of the world which is an integral in the process of learning. These sages need to be aware that there is something out there, not just bars and discos. Alas, these city slickers did not in the least show any form of zeal, desire and passion in wanting to be cognizant about topics that did not relate to their subjects. They are just a bunch of 'academics' living in an ivory tower.

Their command of the English Language is, unfortunately, mediocre and in some cases, appalling.These are the 'intellectuals' who will be Malaysia's future scientists, doctors, engineers, lawyers and academics.

P/S Strangely, it's the students from a state North East of Malaysia who have any semblance of politics. Contorted version of politics, nevetheless some misty form of politics. The others, with special reference to those who hail from KL, have a vast knowledge of the various discos in the capital. All are students who live in Residential Colleges.

So what then are the Higher Institutes of Learning disseminating?

Could the answer be the same material prepared over the years in a spoon? Same material in the same spoon into fresh bowls.
