1,000 arrested in Malaysia democracy protest AFP

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian police fired tear gas and water cannon and made almost 1,000 arrests on Saturday during clashes with protesters who defied government warnings to rally in the capital for electoral reform.

Leaders of opposition parties were among those detained during a massive security operation but it failed to thwart the outlawed demonstration which saw 50,000 citizens take to the streets of Kuala Lumpur, according to organisers.

Protesters faced baton-wielding riot officers in front of a downtown bus station, retreating at times and regrouping to push back police lines in a cat-and-mouse confrontation that took place in a downpour.

Some of the demonstrators fought back by picking up tear gas canisters which they lobbed at police, reporters said.

Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim was injured during the protest when he fell onto the pavement after a tear gas attack and was taken to a hospital as he was feeling unwell, an aide said.

The protesters dissolved into three main groups, and by late afternoon all were trying to force their way through a tight police cordon to a stadium and then to the king's palace to hand over a memorandum detailing their demands.

The police line, however, held firm.

"Why is the government trying to intimidate citizens?" said Mohamad Manij Abdullah, 50, a businessman who joined the rally.

"We are only trying to reform elections and have a free and fair government," he said.

An official police Facebook page said 924 people were detained and they included Ambiga Sreenivasan and Maria Chin Abdullah, the two top leaders of Bersih, the broad coalition that organised the protest.

"Ambiga and myself have been arrested," Maria Chin told this news agency as she was being transported in a police van to an unknown location.

Abdul Hadi Awang, president of the Pan-Malaysia Islamic Party (PAS), the country's largest Islamic opposition grouping, was also arrested.

The protesters rallied in several areas of the city but later began to disperse, said Subramaniam Pillay, one of the organisers, who described the day as "a great success".

Student Chew Ai Nee, 30, said: "We have to take to the streets because we have not been given any opportunity to express our demands for change... the government cannot silence us when we march."

Many of the protesters were shouting "Reformasi!" (Reforms), "God is great" and "Long Live the People."

However, Mukhriz Mahathir, a leading member of the powerful United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), said the government had to act to prevent anarchy.

"We cannot allow a minority group to protest and stir trouble in the country," he said, accusing protesters of provoking the police into firing tear gas "so that they can accuse the government of being heavy handed."

UMNO is the dominant party in the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition led by Prime Minister Najib Razak.

New York-based watchdog Human Rights Watch (HRW) denounced the arrests.

"This is a maelstrom of the Malaysian authorities' own making," said Phil Robertson, deputy director for HRW's Asia Division.

Downtown Kuala Lumpur, normally a hive of activity on weekends, was deserted as major roads into the commercial and tourist district were sealed off.

Meanwhile, about 30 Malaysians living in South Korea rallied in Seoul in support, with another 80 marching through central Hong Kong.

Organisers had called for solidarity walks and demonstrations in countries including Australia, Cambodia, Japan, the United States and Taiwan.

The demonstrators want reforms, including the eradication of vote buying and the prevention of irregularities such as people illegally voting several times during elections.

Bersih wants to see the use of indelible ink to prevent multiple voting, equal access to the media for all parties and the cleaning-up of electoral rolls.

Malaysia's opposition made major gains in 2008 elections against the ruling coalition but said they could have won more if voting rules were fair.

The country's next elections are widely expected to be called early next year, with the opposition aiming to end Barisan's half century rule.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the second rally organised by Bersih ... the first was also an astounding win for the Rakyat ( people aka citizens of Malaysia ), an eye-opener for the ruling party ... but they do not listen ... they only hear.

The police were brutal ... chemical-laced tear-gas ( the first rally, the second, yet to be confirmed ), assault and battery ... they threatened with batons and kicked peaceful demonstrators who were sitting on the ground.

We must remember that this is essentially a police state ... what we have is a cosmetic democracy. Freedom of speech and freedom of a peaceful assembly are just two of the basic ingredients of a democratic nation ... sadly lacking in  this country.

Anyone who poses a threat is a victim of the ruling party ( UMNO ) ... and its compliant component parties MIC and MCA.

Thanks to former PM Mahathir, we do not have an independent Judiciary ... it takes orders from the UMNO.

Mukhriz utters rubbish as with those he represents ... this is not a minority group ... the minority are the ones in power ... the ones that will someday cause anarchy ... the ones who will ... someday ... be following the foot-steps of the rulers-in-exile.

These are the people who stir trouble in the country ... they cause rifts among  the different races in the country. They throw pebbles, and if needed, stones and rocks in a calm interracial pond of harmony ... to cause ripples.

"This is a maelstrom of the Malaysian authorities' own making," said Phil Robertson, deputy director for HRW's Asia Division.

Yes, and some words synonymous with that sentence are ... turmoil, unrest, mayhem, ferment, bedlam, chaos, anarchy ... and water-canon.

Happy Valentine's Day Malaysia

SIS heartbroken over Valentine crackdown

By Tashny Sukumaran, Free Malaysia Today

PETALING JAYA: Religious departments have courted brickbats instead of bouquets from the Sisters in Islam (SIS) for their Valentine’s Day hate campaign.

Speaking to FMT, SIS legal and advocacy officer Nazreen Nizam called the dragnet a waste of taxpayers’ money and urged the authorities to focus on more pressing issues.

“They are morally policing Muslims which violates dignity and privacy. This is forbidden in Islam,” she said.

“They could use their resources to look for fathers who don’t pay alimony or crack down on people who enter polygamous marriages without the consent of the syariah court,” she added.

Nazreen said the funds could also be used to educate religious officers regarding recent developments in other Muslim nations.

“The schools of thought here are very outdated. Do they have so little to do that they want to go after people who are dating?” she asked.

For Muslims here, Feb 14 came with a stern warning from religious authorities to steer clear of the celebration, which was deemed un-Islamic.

Painting a thorny picture, the Selangor Islamic Department (JAIS) blamed Valentine’s Day for the 257,411 births out of wedlock between 2000 and 2008.

Dates on Valentine’s Day, the authorities claimed, would eventually lead to illicit sex.

In the ensuing crackdown, religious authorities detained close to a 100 Muslims for the offence of khalwat (close proximity).

The Christian community was also up in arms when news broke of a video clip depicting a religious teacher urging Muslims not to indulge in the “vices of Christians”.

Valentine's Day Date in Japan and China

People in Japan and China celebrate Valentine's Day on different dates. In Japan, Valentine's Day is celebrated on two dates.

On the popular Valentine's Day date of February 14, females present gifts of chocolates to their boyfriends or other men close to them.

On March 14, people of Japan celebrate White Day as an extension of the Valentine's Day festival celebrated a month earlier.

On White Day it's the turn of the men to pamper women who expressed their love and affection for them on 14th February.

People in China celebrate Valentine's Day on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month in the Chinese Calendar.

The unique date of the festival traces its origin from the popular folk legend of China that narrates the story of a beautiful seventh daughter of Emperor of heaven who married a poor cowherd, Niu Lang.

The couple was separated and turned into stars. They were allowed to meet once only on the 7th day of 7th lunar month.

Chinese Valentine's Day is better known as ‘Festival of the Double Sevens' or Qi Xi - ‘The Night of Sevens' The other popular names for the festival are Seven Sister's Festival' and ‘Daughter's Festival'.

... but ... it is 'The vices of the Christians' … shouts an irrate religious teacher.

I came across this which I found rather interesting.( Wikipedia )

Middle East

In Egypt, Egyptians celebrate Valentine's Day on February 14, and the indigenous Eid el-Hob el-Masri (Egyptian Love Day) on November 4, to buy gifts, and flowers for their lovers.

It has been recorded on the February 14th, 2006 flower movement in the country, worth six million pounds, formed a gain of 10 per-cent of the total annual sale of flowers.

In Iran, the Sepandarmazgan, or Esfandegan, is an age-old traditional celebration of love, friendship and Earth. It has nothing in common with the Saint Valentine celebration, except for a superficial similarity in giving affection and gifts to loved ones, and its origins and motivations are completely unrelated. It has been progressively forgotten in favor of the Western celebration of Valentine's Day.

The Association of Iran's Cultural and Natural Phenomena has been trying since 2006 to make Sepandarmazgan a national holiday on 17 February, in order to replace the Western holiday.[70]

In Israel, the Tu B'Av, is considered to be the Jewish Valentine's Day following the ancient traditions of courtship on this day. Today, this is celebrated as a second holiday of love by secular people (besides Saint Valentine's Day), and shares many of the customs associated with Saint Valentine's Day in western societies.

Conflict with Islamic countries and political parties

Saudi Arabia

In Saudi Arabia, in 2002 and 2008, religious police banned the sale of all Valentine's Day items, telling shop workers to remove any red items, as the day is considered a Christian holiday.[71][72] In 2008 this ban created a black market of roses and wrapping paper.[72]

Pakistan

The Jamaat-e-Islami political party has called for the banning of the holiday.[66] Despite this, the celebration is increasingly popular[66] and the florists expect to sell great amount of flowers, especially red roses.[73]

Iran

In the 21st century, the celebration of Valentine's Day in Iran has been harshly criticized by conservatives who see the celebrations as opposed to Islamic culture.

In 2011, the Iranian printing works owners' union issued a directive banning the printing and distribution of any goods promoting the holiday, including cards, gifts and teddy bears.

"Printing and producing any goods related to this day including posters, boxes and cards emblazoned with hearts or half-hearts, red roses and any activities promoting this day are banned... Outlets that violate this will be legally dealt with," the union warned.[74][75]

Malaysia

Islamic officials in Malaysia warned Muslims against celebrating Valentine's Day, linking it with vice activities.

Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said the celebration of romantic love was "not suitable" for Muslims.

Wan Mohamad Sheikh Abdul Aziz, head of the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim), which oversees the country's Islamic policies said a fatwa (ruling) issued by the country's top clerics in 2005 noted the day 'is associated with elements of Christianity,' and 'we just cannot get involved with other religion's worshipping rituals.'

Jakim officials plan to carry out a nationwide campaign called "Awas Jerat Valentine's Day"("Mind the Valentine's Day Trap"), aimed at preventing Muslims from celebrating the day on 14 February 2011. Activities include conducting raids in hotels to stop young couples from having unlawful sex and distributing leaflets to Muslim University students warning them against the day.[76][77]

At Valentine's Day 2011, Malaysian religious authorities arrested more than 100 Muslim couples concerning the celebration ban. Some of them would be charged in the Shariah Court for defying the department's ban againsts the celebration of Valentine's Day.[78]

-----------------------------------------

So, the celebration of romantic love is 'not suitable' for Muslims. Interesting.

257,411 births between 2000 and 2008 ... that is terrible ... a by-product of a lot of illicit sex because dates on Valentine's Day will lead to illicit sex and produce that many births out of wedlock.

So I guess, the romantic Muslims can date freely on the other 354 days ... as it will not lead to illicit sex and surely we will not have any births out of wedlock.

But I wonder how many Muslim males and females died while fleeing from raids by JAIS, JAKIM and other religious raids.

I do not wish to go into details but am rather curious how different minds think.

Political aide caught for khalwat during Valentine's Day ops

By MUGUNTAN VANAR

KOTA KINABALU: The political aide to a state assistant minister was among 10 people detained for khalwat (close proximity) during a Valentine’s Day swoop at a budget hotel in Putatan near here.

The 53-year-old special officer, who claimed to be a widower and father of four, was caught with his 23-year-old partner in a hotel room by enforcement officers from the Sabah Islamic Affairs Department, at around 11pm Monday.

The department's enforcement officer Mohd Noor Kasah said they had to knock on the door for about an hour before the officer, who was fully dressed, opened the door while his partner, also fully dressed, was on the bed.

He said the couple had informed them that they were in a relationship for about a year but the woman's family did not approve.

The special officer and his partner were taken to Putatan police station for investigations under the Syariah Criminal Offences Act 1997 that carries a fine of up to RM1,000 or a year's jail or both upon conviction.

He said they also arrested four other couples during the three-hour operation in the Putatan area, including a 50-year-old woman and her 23-year-old lover in a room located in workers' quarters in Putatan.

In Sandakan, Islamic religious officers detained 10 couples, including two civil servants, for close proximity in raids at hotels during the wee hours of Tuesday.

Hypocricy and 1Malaysia

(Bernama) -- Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim today described as uncultured and disrespectful of individual rights and democracy the action of DAP leaders stepping on a poster bearing the facial images of three former Pakatan opposition assemblymen now friendly to the Barisan Nasional (BN).

He said their action was not at all synonymous with Malaysian society or the principles of the Rukunegara (National Ideology) or the Federal Constitution.

Rais did not say this when an Iraqi reporter in Baghdad threw his shoe at President Bush in December last year. In fact, if I remember right, he was full of glee. Rais did not say this when Iran used the American flag as doormats so that people walking into buildings could wipe their feet on the Star Spangled Banner. This shows the hypocrisy of some Muslims.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the comedian who speaks with a forked tongue.

It is a strange 'culture' that 1Malaysia seems to have according to this jester - just condemn - as long as it is something, anything - about America. This is, as I see it, the Third World Mentality.

As long as we have comedians and corruption, this country will never progress. The rakyat are the victims.

Why is America targetted? Apart from the fact(?) that they are the enemy of Islam. The people of America are evil, sons of satan...

Let me educate these morons who think so.

Firstly, .... nah, I would be wasting my time.

The enemy of Islam is right here ... in this country ... sons of satan are living here -  one is that clown mentioned above who is a pawn spewing satanic verses ... and those who blindly follow him like a herd ... hoping to catch the droppings from his pockets.

I am still trying to figure out that comedian's name ... the one who acted in Malay movies ... he looks like him. But this guy is in a class of his own ... a roadrunner.

God bless this country.

A Wealthy and Ignorant Malay Woman

When shall we meet again? In thunder lightning or in rain?

Witches who beget bitches.

The poor Malays had better shut their mouths. And if the poor Malays have to shut their mouths, the non-Malays have no say, so get out of this ‘Malay’ land or bend over backwards and keep on apologizing to these rich pricks and prudes.

You cannot teach them the difference between right and wrong and you cannot tell them that they lack the religious knowledge. You cannot reason with them and logic is a foreign word simply because these Malays believe they are above the law. They do not wish to listen to you - you are nothing but a kafir.

There was an incident lately. This wealthy Malay ( not Muslim ), who asserted her garbage and did not wish to listen to reason and logic. Imagine her vicious anger and rambling - and she talks about Islam in the same sentence!

Does Islam condone vicious verbal attacks on the elderly and educators? This Malay thought so. In doing so, she exposed herself to the fact that she was going against the very essence of the true Islamic teaching and not the wahabbi version she expounded.

An egomania on an ego trip. This cock-of-the-walk- was walking tall and riding high. People like this will fall hard. She is the quintessential Malay moron. Ignorance is bliss in her case. Money is everything.

The problem lies in the fact that they seem to forget that their forefathers were kampong folks and kampong folks regarded teachers as demigods.

Then they make themselves visible in the big city and shed their kampong values and become rotten to the core. How they got rich remains a mystery. But they are rich and that is all that matters.

To them, only 'Muslims' know about Islam and a 'kafir' does not know anything about their religion. And if you talk to them about it, they either cry in shame or fume and attack you like a raging bull, not realizing that they are exposing their ignorance of their religion.

I was always brought up to respect my mother, father and my teachers. When I see my old teacher ( TTC trained ), I still address him as 'Sir'. I am more qualified than him so why should I call him so? Because he was my teacher.

To these morons who are deluded into believing they are wealthy and so they qualify to disrespect anyone, this is what I have to tell them ... go back to your kampong and you might just learn something positive, like showing respect for a teacher. You seem to conveniently forget that you are an off-spring of a kampong society ... which reminds me of something else - you can take the man out of the kampong but you cannot take the kampong out of the man.... or woman – in this case. Normally, kampong folks are a simple lot….normally.

These arrogant bigots are loosed upon the world, especially so in this country. They also set an example to their kids that they can get away with being disrespectful and hence the vicious cycle. Their children are by-products of their egotism.

Their children are sent abroad or to private schools and they believe they have fulfilled their parental obligation. They are totally ignorant of their own religion and pass that ignorance onto their children. Ah, but their children attend Agama schools and believe that they know it all.

You teach their children how to think for themselves and strive hard to educate them and successfully manage to make them mix with others. That much you can do. You make them sociable and bring them out of their cocoon but it's up to them who they mix with.

Sometimes you wonder if it is all worth your effort when they mingle with the wrong kind.

When I was 16, I mingled freely and I had good friends - Malays, Chinese and Indians. We always respected teachers, even if we disliked them and would never dare to complain to our parents about them.

Most kids ( not all ) today are a pampered lot. Some will say....spoilt brats. Those some surprisingly include 16 year olds too who will agree with you when you say that most kids are indeed pampered and spoilt. These are the ones who have matured and are independent - not holding on to their mothers' apron strings....like the spoilt brats.

These brats will never be able to stand their ground in a foreign land. They will need to take along the strings attached to their mothers' apron. They cannot see beyond their highfalutin noses.

A reminder here – I am not making a general statement.

I am somewhat bewildered that the educated Indonesian is magnanimous. He does not have his nose pointing to the sky and spews venom like the wealthy Malay prudes.

Some of these Malays wear the ‘tudung’ ( a headscarf ) and give you the middle finger when they pass you by in their fancy cars. Believe me, this is a fact and I write all this through experience.

Others without a headscarf try hard to look good but what is the point of trying to look good when you are rotten to the core inside? Their condescension knows no limits.

So what has become of these Malays who once belonged to a polite and caring society?

They moved – away from the placid kampong ambiance into the fast track world of arrogance, polygamy, corruption, egotism and bigotry. And now they bask in this atmosphere. But for how long? They too will have to answer to their Creator.

I wonder what their defense will be. Apologize? Beg for forgiveness?

These are the corrosive misled ‘Muslims’ who give their counterparts a nasty name.

I detest such hypocritical people. They represent the evil that the society does not need and should be ostracized by all races.

This country has no place for such ‘elite’ egotists who serve to only pollute the country with their feral minds.

These are the very people we are trying very hard to jettison. The people who walk through the Corridors of Power are not alone – there are similar people who walk outside the Corridors of Power and these are insidious people are probably more dangerous to the Rakyat.

Special rights can’t be erased unless the Malays agree to it, says Khoo Kay Kim

(Bernama) - The people, irrespective of race, who question Article 153 of the Federal Constitution, which spells out the special rights and privileges of the Malays and Bumiputeras, are blind about history and the constitution, an analyst said.

Prof Emeritus Tan Sri Dr Khoo Kay Kim said the special position of the Malays was recognised way back since the British era.

“When the British came to Malaya, they found that there were already Malay governments in several parts of the peninsula, and the British recognised these governments.

“These governments took care of a large number of people (the Malays). For the British, these people had their special rights. But those who came and lived in Malaya were not subjects of the Rulers and therefore, did not enjoy the same rights enjoyed by the Malays,” he told Bernama.

He said the non-Malays in the peninsula at that time were not citizens or subjects of the king, saying they only had the opportunity to apply for citizenship when the Federation of Malaya was formed on February 1, 1948.
“When the British planned the formation of the Malay Federation as a nation state, it was an extension of what already existed then, and by 1957, the Federal Constitution was formulated, incorporating the prevailing arrangement at that time,” he said.

The people, especially those from other races, should therefore respect the rights and privileges of the Malays as enshrined in the constitution because when it was first formulated, the various races had already agreed to what needed to be incorporated in it, he said.
“The special position of the Malays started since a long time ago and based on the system of government existed then. In the peninsula, nine Malay kingdoms existed since 1895, and continue to exist until today,” he said.

The Federal Constitution was formulated based on the recommendations of the Reid Commission. It took effect soon after the independence on August 31, 1957.

Article 153 spells out powers vested upon the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in safeguarding the special position of the Malays and the natives of Sabah and Sarawak, as well as the legitimate interests of other communities.

It also spells out in detail the functions of the King in ensuring quotas for the Malays and Bumiputeras in the public service, scholarships, public education as well as the provisions of permits and business licences.
Khoo said the reason why there were groups questioning the rights and privileges of the Malays was because the society of today was “blind about history”.

“They don’t understand (the constitution) and are ignorant of what they can or cannot do. There shouldn’t be any debate on the constitution because what is important is to follow what has been in use for so long,” he said.

He said that if the constitution was to be amended, it would require the agreement of two-thirds of MPs in Parliament and should be consented to by the King.
He added that anyone wanting to abolish or amend Article 153 should obtain the agreement of the Malays and Bumiputeras, the agreement of two-thirds of MPs in Parliament and the consent of the King.

Khoo said the reason why there were groups questioning the rights and privileges of the Malays was because the society of today was “blind about history”.

KKK, I for one am not interested in rights and privileges of one race....who (except you) gives a fcuk about ....what was, so what shall be.

In essence, you are supporting and condoning the 'bumiputeras' and the 'ketuanan' Melayu bullshit.

If something is old and outdated, we should replace it with new things....for the sake of progress. And if a historian like you, a Professor Emeritus, cannot fathom that, then I say ...you are 'blind about history'.

We go back into history to shape a better future....for all Malaysians. You have it all, so why do you care about the plight about the have-nots?

Eggheads like that lawyer is one fine example of a 'bumiputera' getting into a court of Law as a lawyer and making an ass of himself and the Judiciary.

Come on KKK, you know it and I know it...why the racial discrimination? It's pervasive. Quota system in your University. Have you not seen the difference in the quality of students?

But that is another matter.

When you talk about the SPECIAL RIGHTS of the Malays and that it should never be challenged....you disappoint me - no, you have swayed...you took a wrong turn. Which history books have you been reading?

America has changed over decades and today we have a BLACK man as a president. CHANGE IS WHAT WE ARE ASKING FOR AND CHANGE IS WHAT IS NEEDED ...IF ALL RACES ARE TO UNITE AND LIVE IN HARMONY.

But you are 'blind' to that fact...it is pathetic that you have bowed so low and are fighting for the 'special rights' of ANY race.

Every damn race came from outside this country....now, don't tell me that you, as a historian, are ignorant of that. So why the special rights and privileges? Because the British said so?

Bottom line: THIS COUNTRY NEEDS A CHANGE...a change of draconian history books and relics like you who cannot think of a better future for the people of this country.

If we, like you, adhere to History books, whether they tell the truth is another episode....then, we will all still be divided ....and that is precisely what UMNO wants.... you know it and I know it.

cheers....for a better and more progressive Malaysia.

written by anon, September 07, 2010 02:31:18

Let me remind you KKK....if something, anything is old and outdated ( like your myopic reasoning )...it is every one's duty, including yours, to change it...be it archaic History books, your pants, or any articles in the constitution....if that article brings about a divided nation, then that article should be changed so we can have peace in the country and among it's people.

No one is 'challenging' the rulers....I believe there should be a change for the better....all for the sake of racial harmony. And if we need to change any article anywhere, so be it....why can't all of us live in peace and harmony???

Isn't that what Malaysia is all about?....Malaysia truly Asia...what does that mean to you? Why lie to the world that we are living in perfect harmony?

The British had their selfish reasons and formulated the constitution. Do you really believe the British wanted peace among the races? They came here and got what they wanted....then left this country in a mess. It is now up to us to make amendments for a better future for ALL Malaysians.

No one race in a plural society should be the 'Master Race'...not the Malays, the Indians, the Chinese or the Brits...not in any country. These were the same Brits who were the 'Tuans' in India ( sahabs ) and all the countries they colonized.

The British messed up....do we have to add to that mess? Or do we think about what they did and undo the mess they created?

The Reid Commission, formulated in the house of a royal, was not thought of wisely. We now have to think and rethink and come up with a plan....heck, even an amended Constitution if it needs be....to bring ALL races in Malaysia....Malays, Chinese, Indians, Kadazans and Dayaks together....as one.

I am entitled to my opinion.

Hajjah Siti bt Insyak - a RACIST headmistress

School head under probe over racist remarks

Monday, 16 August 2010 admin-s
"Pelajar-pelajar Cina tidak diperlukan dan boleh balik ke China ataupun Sekolah Foon Yew. Bagi pelajar India, tali sembahyang yang diikat di pergelangan tangan dan leher pelajar nampak seakan anjing dan hanya anjing akan mengikat seperti itu."

By Student of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra, Kulai

The Star) KULAIJAYA: Police are investigating a school principal who allegedly used racist remarks against non-Malay students during a Merdeka celebration at the school here recently.
Kulaijaya deputy OCPD Asst Supt Mohd Kamil said police had received 12 reports against the principal since Saturday and that the case was being investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code.
Over 50 parents and students had lodged the reports against the principal, who allegedly described the non-Malays as “penumpang” (passengers) in the country during her speech at the start of the celebration on Aug 12.

“I was shocked that my principal had used such a word against non-Malay students in our school.

“This is not the first time that she had made racist comments against Chinese and Indian students in our school,” said 17-year-old student Brevia Pan.

She added that the principal, who joined the school early this year, would only target Chinese and Indian students.

“During the Merdeka celebration, she had told non-Malay students to go study in a Chinese school or go back to China,” she told reporters in a press conference organised by Senai assemblyman Ong Kow Meng.

Another student, Ashvini Thi-nakaran, 17, said many Malay students were influenced by the principal’s remarks and made similar comments and called them names.

“Before she came to my school, all the students got along well,” she said. Her father R. Thinakaran, 47, said this was a serious matter and that principals should not behave like this.

“This principal has caused racial disharmony at the school,” he said, adding that if no action was taken, he would take his daughter out of the school.

Ong called for stern action against the principal, adding that such school heads and educators would affect the minds of students.

So what else is new? But there surely must be some mistake...it says ..."hajah" ...which means she has returned from her pilgrimage to Mecca.

A headmistress who has performed one of The Five Pillars of Islam and hurls RACIST remarks when she gets back??? Yes, there must be some mistake...she must have taken the wrong road ...the wrong place, the wrong plane, the wrong month, the wrong brains ...no, she forgot to take along her brains...you know how it is when you are in a hurry to catch a plane...some forget their passports and some just forget.

So let us give her the benefit of the doubt...that is what the court (if it ever reaches the court) will say anyway...under duress and all, you know.

And isn't this the month of Ramadan? You know, Holy Month, puasa (fasting) and all...puasa is not just about abstaining from eating ...you abstain/prevent evil thoughts and evil actions too you know.

But then again, what do I know...I am just a kafir.

=====================================
Goodness me... actually, Malaysians are not shocked really...women like these  cover themselves from head to toe, but leave their filthy mouths (among other insalubrious holes) wide open. Of course there are some emancipated 'liberal'  ones, who do not cover their faces.

Animals that bark unnecessarily should have their mouths covered ....like vicious dogs.
Reminds me of a woman who wore a black 'tudung' (headscarf), driving a Mercedes Benz ...overtook me and showed me the middle finger.

This is not the first racist remark made by a misled Muslim...there are many more who think going to Mecca is a vacation or go there to get that 'title' Hajah and then in the guise of being pious...hurl the worst kind of abuse to other human beings.

And please do not forget...she also said ( according to the police report ) ...I shall translate as best as i possible can...

i ..." the prayer chain/string that the Indians wear around their wrists and neck....they look/are like dogs...as only dogs have such 'chains' and 'strings'  around their necks.

ii ... she called Indian teachers and Indian students "black Nigerians"
I don't know about you dear diary but I can only feel sorry for this lost soul.
I can only hope she finds solace in a holy place and repents before evil engulfs her.

Utusan columnist tells critics to ‘go home’

By Asrul Hadi Abdullah Sani, The Malaysian Insider

Is this a face of a Malay, Chinese or an Indian? Take a wild guess.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 15 — Controversial Mingguan Malaysia columnist Dr Mohd Ridhuan Tee Abdullah ( see pix ) continued his weekly diatribe against non-Malays, saying today that minorities who cannot respect the special position of Islam and the Malays should return to their homeland.

The Muslim convert also sneered that Malaysia should be renamed “Cinasia” or “Indiasia” if every demand by non-Muslims was accommodated when commenting on Centre for Policy Initiatives (CPI) columnist Helen Ang’s recent piece “Enforcing NEP on minority religions.”

“Will the practice of prayer (doa) cause the heart of the non-Muslims to melt and embrace Islam? She really (Helen Ang) hates Islam. Prayer (doa) is part of the Malay Muslim culture.

“Why would we want to delete all of our identity for merely wanting to accommodate others. If that’s the case, just change the name of Malaysia to Cinasia or Indiasia. How strange it is this species, never cease trying to challenge the position of Islam and Malays,” he wrote in his Sunday column headlined “Jangan terlalu berani mencabar” (Don’t be so brave to challenge).

In her piece, Ang questioned why non-Muslim religious societies were banned in national schools.
Ang added that the restriction on non-Muslim fellowship in schools has stopped many Chinese parents from sending their children to national schools.

“If I were a mother, I would never wish to subject my vulnerable child to a bellicose environment where my race, and the traditions and faith beliefs I’ve imparted to my son or daughter are disparaged,” she said.
In response, Tee said that the country does not want Ang’s children, whether legal or illegitimate, a favourite line he continually implies about the Chinese.

“She does not need to send her ‘children’ (if any were legitimate) to national school, if she is not confident with the national school or she is scared that her ‘children’ will become Malays. Her ‘children’ are not needed here.

“Just send her ‘children’ to schools in her homeland or overseas. The presence of ‘children’ are not needed here,” he said in a personal attack on Ang, who has also had two police reports lodged against her over her article.

Tee also said that Ang should migrate to the West if she is obsessed with their culture.

And now we have this convert passing judgments on his own race and the others...so much for his version of Islam.

Why is it when an Indian or a Chinese converts, he has to prove to the Islamic world that he is truly a Muslim? It's the same with the 'mamaks'...these are the over-zealous bigots and megalomaniacs who are the real threats to Malaysians.

Look at this moron...typical Chinese looking...as with 99% Malays (of course we know where their roots are) , telling the non-Muslims to go back to their 'homeland'.
Question to you dickhead: Where is YOUR homeland?

The majority of the Muslims are not like you...I believe the educated ones know that this country belongs to all who have migrated here...that includes Malays, Chinese, Indians...you name it.

You convert and you think you are a Malay? You are a pathetic moron. You are in limbo land right now. You want to convert...do so by all means...but when you DO convert, do not imagine yourself as the 'master race'...first, there is no master race...second...your race will always be...Chinese.

You are not even a good Muslim. You are a Chinese and will always be one...you cannot escape from that.
Attend classes...a good Muslim class...and you might just turn into a good Muslim.

....or she is scared that her ‘children’ will become Malays.

Malays or Muslims? So that is why he is delusioned into thinking that he is a Malay. Listen Mr Abdullah, there is a big difference between being a Malay and a Muslim.
Not all Malays are Muslims and not all Muslims are Malays.

Silly dickhead convert.
-------------------------------
This is one of the many absurdities that we face in our country. The moment such boneheads like these open their mouth ...fresh after converting...you see them in action...almost immediately condemning the race and religion they were born into and resort to naive and assassinate their own race.

Does this dullard think he is actually a 'Malay' now? And that he will be accepted by the Malay society? He is and will always be a Chinese. He may be a Muslim....personally I think he is not as no true Muslim will spit out garbage as he has.

Would you ever believe he has a doctorate?  This is similar to a turncoat. It's the same story with the 'mamaks'.

These converts always are in desperate need to prove that they are 'muslims' and in the process become dangerous and a menace to the society.

Look at the way he belittles women. Doa (an Indian word actually), is part of the Malay Muslim culture...isn't that true of every culture?

To slander Helen Ang like that only goes to prove how little he knows about his new-found religion.

Be a Muslim by all means but be a good Muslim...not one who is totally ignorant of the teachings of the Koran.

Special position of who? 'Ketuanan Melayu'? You do not even fit into that category. So tell us what actually 1Malaysia is? All are equal and in the same line he talks about special privileges.

Go back to your 'homeland'? Where is your homeland? After converting it is this country? This is OUR homeland...land for ALL Malaysians.

Tee @ Abdullah, we are ALL migrants...we have all contributed in some way to the economy and the progress of the country so cease your gibberish and concentrate on being a good Muslim.

Allow me to reiterate...be a Muslim if you wish...for the right reason...but do not assume that once you are a Muslim, it is a license for your to hurl profanities at other races.

You have reached this position as a convert...do not get greedy and attempt to be the next Prime Minister...you are not a Malay...you will never be.

The Indian Dilemma

(Free Malaysia Today) -  In a fiery speech, a MIC delegate from Kedah called on Indians to leave Malaysia and seek a better life elsewhere.
M Ramachandran, from the party's Kulim division, said the government was not offering enough
opportunities to the Indian community despite their sacrifices for the nation over the last 150 years.

“We are citizens of this nation and they (the ruling party) come to us for votes. But what do we get in return? We are only looked at when it's election time but after that we are forgotten.

“We are labelled with all sorts of names, so why stay here? We need to migrate to another country which offers equal opportunity to all,” he told the MIC annual general assembly here.

Meanwhile, Sri Serdang MIC division delegate K Subramaniam took a swipe at Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak's 1Malaysia concept.

He asked how can the concept be achieved when racial segregation still exists in the country.

“The PM is going around with the 1Malaysia slogan but we are still being differentiated using the bumiputera and non-bumiputera status. How can you achieve 1Malaysia with this?” he added.

Subramaniam was also cynical about Najib's promise that students who excelled in their SPM examinations would be entitled for Public Service Department grants to further their studies.

“My question now is will they allow Indian students to get more than 9A's after this. I doubt it very much,”  he said.
===================================================

The Indians have always been sidelined. You know it, I know it.  The Chinese have been treated decently. And here we are fighting for equality and justice and in the same line, condemning the Indians.

Yes, as long as the Indians follow and worship MIC and its dogs, they will remain as they are....a minority group that does not pose any threat of any kind and will be treated like 'kelings' by both the Malays and the Chinese.

Hundreds of thousands have already migrated...Indians or Chinese?  And what the heck is wrong if Indians find a better place somewhere else? The Chinese have already found a 'better' place and the people have their mouths zipped.

But when Indians wish to find a 'better' place...look at the outburst. They are labeled as traitors by so-called freedom-fighters who will turn this country around and are so certain that all races will be equal.

It will take 50....perhaps 100 years before we could possibly see any semblance of freedom, equality and justice for all....by which time, the Chinese population will equal that of the Indians....then we might just see some kind of freedom and justice for all.

Sometimes when I read some comments I have a good laugh at those morons who say things like....'bring them on' and whatnot.

Those who wish to to continue the struggle for freedom must do just that....fight for freedom and not pass any unwarranted remarks. What is the point of fighting for freedom and justice for all and in the process pass racist remarks....is not that called an irony? Perhaps paradox is a better word.

Malaysia-Today will become a laughing stock if these knuckleheads keep posting their birdbrained comments in it.

I do hope the Admin puts an end to juvenile posts and comments....yes, freedom of speech and all but sometimes you need to stop these naive comments to save your blog and maintain it as an intellectual platform - free of kids talking cock for recreation.
MT should remain as a place for serious debates, posts and comments. Everything has its limits...even freedom of speech.

What can you do with RM750?

Since 1999, the opposition has been urging the government to increase the minimum wage to at least RM1,800 or RM2,000 per month. That was in 1999. Today it should be maybe RM2,500 per month. RM750 is just ridiculous. At a minimum wage of RM750 it is better to live in the UK. - RPK

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
written by anon, April 14, 2010 00:56:46

Dear Pete,

I know a settler cannot do much with RM750 a month. This is in a kampong. Uniforms, shoes, inner clothing, clothing for everyday use, provisions, small repairs for the house(including pipes, roof leaks etc), doctor's bills, electric bill, petrol for the motorbike (to take kids to school and back and to go to work in the plantation) - let me stop here.

All these for a family of four....excluding the parents(heck, parents too have to be dressed and have to eat). Now how much do you think it will come up to?

My friend in the kampong who cannot afford to go to the doctor when his child is unwell and resorts to 'traditional' medicine and prayers. Kampong folks too succumb to toothaches and being children, often fall and hurt themselves.

No proper school teachers so no proper education - unable to afford to send kids for tuition classes.

Then there is the occasional marriage ceremony - this family is realistic, nothing elaborate and spend what they can afford and even that is insufficient. No buffaloes, no fancy cakes.

But, there is an avenue to have a decent 'kenduri' - pawn gold and borrow money - to feed 50-100 people....similar to poor Indians.

There came a time when this family did not have money to buy essential items.

Then comes Hari Raya....money is needed for a small-scale celebration. Where do they find it? Birthdays are just singing a song for the person and simple food is served....it is a family affair.

But there is hope yet again - pawn more jewelery  and borrow more money while paying off the first loan.

Now let us take the scenario in a city. Or do I have to even mention it? I believe Pete has that all covered.

If a kampong family cannot cope with RM750 a month, what do you expect a family in the city to do?

My friend Zahib, I will keep helping you if I can. Suhana, I will send you some money if I can.

Suhana is my former maid who looked after my late mother....not an easy task. Her neighbours give her
rice and when I had the means I was sending her money which kept her and her family going - I am not in a position to help her now but I hope and pray that I will soon be able to continue helping her and her family.

So those who waste food and blow your money on what you do not need, think of these hungry people who are not very far from you.

Members of UMNO, MCA and MIC these are your people - ethnically Malays, Chinese and Indians. It is a damn disgrace that some still live below the poverty level and are ignored while you frolic and bask in glory and deceive the people that you are helping them.

Money allocated goes into pockets of local ketua kampongs who have learnt how to slip money into their pockets - heck if his big boss can do it, so what is wrong with that? After all, he too wants to be behind the wheels of a fancy car.

These corrupt officials have learnt fast from the experts who walk through the Corridors of Power.

Yes there are poor Chinese and Indians too in these kampongs.

But these people are now aware of the present pretentious politicians and will never vote for you. They are aware now.

Soon, they will be on their way to Putra Jaya....demanding an explanation.

They do not like broken pipes and broken promises.

RPK says: I’m part Orang Asli and proud of it

Tomorrow the Africans also will become BUMIPUTRA´s when they married the Malay girls.
----------------------------------------------------

Dear PeacefulMalaysia,

What you wrote is indeed true. That is exactly what is happening now. What you forgot to include is the Banglas and the Pakis who are the heartthrobs of the local Malay girls. Let us not even tread into Indon territory.

The local Malay girls seem to have a strange attraction for these blokes. Well, I admit these guys are good looking gardeners and manual workers but they seem to have captured the hearts of the Malay girls.

The guy who comes to my place to cut the grass has a Malay girls' Fan Club and tells me that it is so easy to get hitched to any one of them and these are good looking educated Malays girls - only thing with this guy is that he is honest and tells me he is married with kids in Pakistan.

He is just one honest man but I can't speak for the rest. I know of Banglas who are having a great time with the local Malay girls....fun and adventure.

We do seem to have more and more Africans here and like you said, all they need to do is to marry any one of these Malay girls and they are set to go - they may not be Bumis but heck, their children will be and enjoy the privileges of a Bumi!

Ironic isn't it? The non-Malays have been here even before the Malays but are sidelined.

So, get rid of UMNO, MIC, MCA, and we might just see a light at the end of the tunnel.

I shall go a step further and say, get rid of all race.religious-based parties....be it Hindraf, PR, DAP, PAS, PKR ....every damn party that 'champions' the cause for a Malaysian Malaysia but has a hidden agenda.

Will, for instance, any of these party have a non-Malay for a Prime Minister if they come to power????

And don't give me the crap about this being a Malay majority nation, we should have a Malay as a PM!!!!

So what makes any party different from BN?

To BN: Get rid of MIC and MCA and all component parties and take on all opposition.
 =================================

P.S   Verbosity - big talk about a change but let me tell you this....there will never be a party ( a party....not a person ) that will genuinely represent ALL races and be fair to all Malaysians. Why?

Answer: Greed.

Sometimes I tend to think that all you people are just full of hot air, gloating how you can make this country united....but there is always a catch.
RPK condemns Hindraf. Well, I will also condemn them if they are race based. I will also condemn ALL other parties - including DAP and PR that are similar and just speak of a Malaysian Malaysia.

I will also condemn RPK if I feel that he is just dabbling in rambunctious racial reprove and making a fool of any Malaysian and laughing all the way to a pub.

Tell the people openly before you win the election, there will be a non-Malay as the PM of the new Malaysia. A meritorious Indian/Chinese PM. Like the past presidents of Singapore.

I have my reservations about Anuar playing hopscotch....from Socialist to ABIM to UMNO to  keADILan to PR.

To me, he wants his 'justice' - as simple as that. Become the PM then get the bastards who tarnished his name. Rahim Noor watch out - hide as far away from Mahathir as possible. That is what I feel Anuar is seeking - not an office but revenge.

I had enough of all this big talk. All talk but no action from any opposition except when it comes to defending their own kind.

Heck I might feel differently later. If politicians have the right to change their minds as and when they feel like it, why can't I?

Right now I feel that ALL opposition is full of garbage - and they seem to have a rather large herd.

These are all CEOs. And most CEOs are full of crap. They are crafty actors. Do you notice that they ALWAYS have a smile on? Behind that seemingly innocuous smile is a breeding ground for bloodthirsty killing machines - they smile but they make mental notes then plan....how to blow you off.

If you can see beyond that smile, you will face a bloody venomous fang waiting to strike - stay away from such menacing maulers.

When was the last time you came across a HUMBLE wealthy bloke? They hire and fire....without giving a second thought to the repercussions - of the innocent victim struggling to make ends meet. Heck, we are still living in the Colonial era... ACTUALLY, when the Brits were ruling this country, we were living more in harmony than at present. We were happy and mingled freely. We did not give a thought about race and religion when we were together.

....later....

I’m part Orang Asli and proud of it

Hindraf has to wake up. If they do not wish to work with Barisan Nasional or Pakatan Rakyat then they will have to go solo. And going solo means it is a dead end road. So Hindraf has to choose its ally. It can’t go to war with the entire world. It has to seek a friend somewhere and get this friend to support its cause - RPK

Anyway, the point to all this is that if there is one person who should be proud of his bangsa (race) then it should be me. Who can claim to be more Bumiputera than me, a person with Orang Asli blood? But I am prepared to put aside the pride of my bangsa and instead accept that I am Malaysian first and all others second. It appears, however, that many Malaysians would rather fight for their bangsa than for all Malaysians.
-------------------------------------------------------

written by anon, April 11, 2010 23:45:07

Pete,
If indeed Hindraf is fighting for an Indian cause then I agree with you. We have to eradicate this Indian, Malay, Chinese stigma (including Iban, Kadazan, Bugis, Asli, Baba-Nyonya etc). Your message is loud and clear and I totally agree with you.

That is why we have to first get rid of UMNO, MCA and MIC. These are racist parties acting under the guise of BN's component parties.

Let us stand as Malaysians and cast aside our ethnicity. When we come together as Malaysians, we then go on to throw out all ethnic groups who fight for their race. It has been too long that the people of this country have been placing their race first. Shed that and embrace the fact that we are Malaysians - as I said before - we eat, play and sleep as one - Malaysians.

The PM has blundered saying he is Malay first then Malaysian....then boasts about his warped sense of ....1Malaysia.

His 1Malaysia is Malay first, then Malaysian as he proudly proclaimed. That is the worst contradiction I have ever heard. If anyone dares come up with a slogan such as ....1Malaysia, he should mean we are all Malaysians first or shut his mouth.

I waited for a reply from him when I asked what he means by boasting of his new and dubious 1Malaysia. When he finally told us all that he is a Malay first then a Malaysian - I was not surprised knowing that politicians are what they are ....politicians.

Hindraf, Makkal Sakthi, Pakatan, PKR, DAP, PAS, UMNO, MCA, MIC and any other racist-based group or party who claim to represent their 'race' - then I say, to hell with these racists bigots.

What we need is a party who represents ALL Malaysians - no one supreme race or religion.

This may surface in probably 50 years....but it will be worth the wait for our children and their children.

....and in 50 years, this country will be free of corrupt officials, arrogant wealthy condescending bastards and we will see a colour blind party representing Malaysians.

Fight Racism

Yang Mulia, Raja Petra Kamarudin - a member of the Royal Family of Malaysia who sacrificed his life of luxury to fight for Freedom and Liberty for the People of  his country.

Change can’t happen by itself. We need to make that change. Racism is Umno’s 'secret weapon' and the only way to beat Umno at this race game is to register as a voter and vote racism out of office. So register as a voter, now, and make that change. Only YOU can end racism. Umno understands only ONE language, the power of your one vote. Umno does not fear God. Umno fears losing power – RPK

RPK's thoughts are shared by ALL right-thinking, peaceful Malaysians...Malays, Chinese, Indians, Ibans, Kadazans ...ALL Malaysians.

This country certainly needs a change. The people of this country need this change...for a peaceful Malaysia.

We may not see this change in our lifetime but let us think of our children and their children. Please inculcate Article 1 into them.

Allow them grow up as one big happy family, mixing and playing together as one without thinking of the colour of their skin.

Allow them to grow into liberal thinking adults knowing and accepting that they are ALL Malaysians.

Let there be mutual respect among them. Let them know that ALL religions preach good things and let them not deviate from the teachings of their religion.

Let there be a group of Malaysians – Malays, Chinese, Indians, Ibans, Kadazans sitting at one table, laughing and enjoying a free and healthy conversation.

Impose the moral values that no one is mightier than the other, and that we are all one – Malaysians.

Let racism, NEP, quota system, ‘bumiputra’ and ‘ketuanan’ be a thing of the past. Let them all come together as one.

These are some of the things we can do during our lifetime.

...Let us not be judged by the colour of our skin but by the content of our character... Martin Luther King
